More Heuett Fun!

I totally amaze myself at how long I go between blogs. I promise myself I will blog every week, and then time just slips away from me. They say that's a sign of getting old. Pssshhhh. Right.

Anyhoo-since I have waited so long to blog I have a few things to blog about, just to keep you updated all all of the Heuett happenings!

Last Friday night was the "Relay for life" event dedicated to finding a cure for cancer. (Yes, it was cold!) I know this is a bad picture but I guess that is what you get when you let someone else take the picture! haha Erin (Kyle's wife) was volunteered to be in charge of a "team" so I signed up to walk two 30 minute time spots. (Have I mentioned how cold it was?!) Brian walked from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am and only stopped when the blisters on his feet wouldn't let him go any longer. I only managed 4 laps per 1/2 hour and found out I am no Carl Lewis, but I thought a lot about my dad, and how much I miss him, and what a terrible, awful disease cancer is, and I was glad to contribute in my small, seemingly insignificant way.

The next night was Prom, and this year I had two kids going. It was kind of monumental for me because it was my first experience getting my daughter ready for a dance, and my last experience seeing my son go to Prom. I was amazed at how much more work is required to get girls ready for a dance. After getting press on nails, looking for just the right shoes and spending hours on her hair, suffice it to say that boys are much, much different (and easier) to get ready for a dance than girls. But all went well, and the night turned out to be memorable and fun for the kids despite the look on Dillan's face.

Geez - You'd think it was a prison photo or something! C'mon Dillan, Smile!!
