Finally it happened! I have been wanting a dog for years now, don't ask me why. Maybe I inherited a love of dogs from my dad, maybe it's because I want someone to actually be excited when they see me walk through the door. OK, Brian is, but he doesn't wag his tail or greet me with wet kisses. . . . um . . . .well, he doesn't wag his tail. And I don't get much happy affection from my kids anymore. I know that may come as a shock to some of you. My kids were as shocked to hear this as some of you are. I told them dirty dishes in the basement and messy rooms weren't signs of affection! So last week Brian finally broke down and surprised me with a puppy! Isn't he cute?
At first I named him Dexter, but he never came when we called him. Besides, when we shortened his name, we felt like we were calling the phone book. Then we thought of Buster . . . but didn't like his name shortened. Afterall, he is male. So we changed his name to Toby . . . . until Celeste's good friend said that Toby was a black, slave name. There went that name. Now we have found a name that fits him and he has learned to recognize!

Oh HE IS SO CUTE!! another great reason for us to come visit! My kids will smother him! Are you up at night feeding him or comforting him back to sleep? He looks like a beagal...does he bark much? I love the name. Give Murphy a hug from us! Oh and give everyone else a hug too!
