I guess wherever you live there are some crazy traditions.  I think one of the craziest traditions in Southern Utah is that school closes for the first day of hunting season.   They call it Harvest Holiday but we all know it has nothing to do with harvesting.   As if the mountains weren't infested enough with crazed people with guns.  I say people because many women here boast of shooting their deer or elk, and proudly display the horns on their wall.  It's been a hard custom for me to get used to, especially since our family doesn't do much of the shooting scene.  So we used to spend the days off from school watching videos or going bowling.  But this year there was a silver lining around the cloud of gunfire.  Beause there was no school, we got to go visit Bryce and Erin!  We had a great time!  We got to enjoy some football, go to the mall, visit, catch a few football plays while we ate lunch, do more shopping, visit, watch football, eat pizza, watch more football, and visit!  I guess NCAA football is our passion like the hunt is to others.  In fact here is a picture of the gifts these boys got each other for their birthdays:

Yes we love college football!  Anyhow, it was a great weekend!  We loved it!   In fact, it was the first one I have really enjoyed in years!   And I even got some great pictures of us watching football!

Of course some of did a little more relaxing then others, but it was all good.
