The summer of twenty ten!

Yeah - I know it's been awhile since I've last blogged.  I guess you could say that I had technical difficulties.  When I would log onto my blog, there was an annoying little box in the middle of my blog staring me squarely in the face.  I didn't think that was very funny.  I asked my expert blogger daughter in law Erin Kay about it and she asked me if my background had expired?  I lifted up one side of my lip (kinda like Elvis - but not exactly) and said "Huh? Those things expire?!?!"  Since my moment of bewilderment, she has graciously helped me so that my blog can now resume looking normal - without an insensitive square in the middle!
Now that I'm cruising the blogging 'fast lane', I am ready to fill you in on all of the fun filled fabulous moments I have had this summer!

In July I discovered what it was like to enjoy the holidays with one, single, solitary child.  It is definately not like having a tribe of wide-eyed children filled with the excitement and wonder of holding fire on a stick, but at least my child didn't feel she was deprived of any one-on-one attention during the holidays!

Whee.

Now, to some of you this may be news, but I might as well expose everyone to the hard, naked truth!    I now have, within my family, a number of runners.  I know, I can hardly believe it myself!  I call it self-inflicted torture!  And they don't do it because they have to.  They actually do it for fun!  So after they signed up for the 'Main Street Mile'. they cooerced me into signing up as well.  I know what your thinking and the answer is not only No, but heck no -  I do not run.  But I am a wicked walker and so while they darted ahead of me, I walked casually down main street while visitng with other moms.  So I was the only one of the bunch who wasn't pushing a stroller, but I didn't let it intimidate me.  Ya know why?  Because not only was I getting exercise, and catching up with friends, I got a nifty t-shirt! (Hey! I take my excitement where I can get it!)

To top off the summer, we visited Washington. Unfortunately there was lot of riding in a van, but fortunately, there was also lots of fun and family and fond memories!  And the smell of that state is incredible!  It's a smell they just gotta have in heaven because it just wouldn't be heaven without it!

Now that September is approaching, I find myself in love with the idea of living a scheduled life, enjoying cooler days, and tasting some 'sick' soups! (Apparently that means groovy) So bring on Autumn baby!
I am ready!
