Fun on the Fourth!

This fourth of July we gathered our courage and our lawnchairs and decided to try out the Cedar City parade after years of reprieve.  It's not that I'm scared of the parade, it's just that the last time we endured the parade there was a plethera of pickups with advertisement banners hanging from them and kids in the back throwing candy.  No marching bands, no goofy mascot animals, just candy whizzing past my head at 80 mph. In fact, last time I got nailed in the forehead with a tootsie roll.  But there was no such incidents this year.  We made it through without welts, wounds or swelling.  It was nice weather, despite my coat-like appearance (hey, the coat doesn't come off unless it's over 85 degrees).  We even managed a few photos!

Celeste took pictures when there was a lull in the action.  (There were lots of lulls)

Later that night we had a barbecue and then lit off a few fireworks - which paled in comparison to the neighbors $100 hot-shot, mega arsenal, jumbo artillery, mammoth missile  pack.

But we enjoyed the few fountains and ground flowers we lit.

Cannon really enjoyed it!

It was a memorable 4th, and the best part of the holiday was that I got to spend it with my family!
Any day is bound to be good when that happens!
