While we were headed north, we stopped to say hi to Avarie - the most awesome BYU student EVER!
We got to have lunch with her - (picture not included because we were feeding our faces and chatting like crazy). We got to see her room and meet a roommate and gave her a big hug! Then headed North to take on the traffic.
The traffic or the T-word as I call it, always reminds me why I dont want to move up north. This is maybe 2 miles from Avarie's door.
It takes a special breed to deal with all of this - of which I am not a part.
After we got to Salt Lake we had a lengthy drive to find the Fasion Place Mall. There seems to be a magnetic attraction for me to those malls. Brian complied with my wishes and once we finally found the mall, we strolled like newlyweds; window shopping and holding hands. We didn't even care that we were in the minority there. Because it had taken us forever to get there and because of the horrible T word, we decided to find a place to eat close by. Luckily Erin Kay had put a shout out for Zupas last month when we had our girl's shopping trip. So we tried it and it was MAGNIFICO! FANTASTICO!
I got a little worried when I ordered a "half salad" and she filled a bowl the size of our family mashed potato bowl with lettuce. "Excuse me" I said trying to sound polite "I only wanted a half salad." The lady looked up from the buffet she was loading into my ginormis bowl. "I know." she answered. Needless to say we walked out of that place busting at the seam!
But the bread was pure gold! So when we were too full to eat another bit, I had to take the bread with us! It melted in our mouth! It lifted our spirits! It made us squabble over who got to eat each bite!
After my meetings were done (which was the reason for our mid-week trip) and the seminar was over. I was exhausted.
So we enjoyed a nice quiet evening in our hotel room, and then Friday morning we once again tackled the "T" word and headed to ogden to see Aunt Lois and Uncle Eddie.
It was so good to see them! After a nice visit we headed home, and after we endured all the t word we could handle, we got hit with rain. Hard, pounding, ear piercing, can't-see-the-road rain.
Here is a picture of the normal scenery between Provo and Cedar.
Here is how it looked that day.
Finally we got home, and I was never so glad to be in my own bed. Funny how ya can't wait to get away, and then ya can't wait to get home! Home sweet Home!
