The Road Trip

Just as the rubber cools from our tires and our fannies start to un-numb (is that a word?) I had to blog about our trip to my nephew's wedding!

We left early on a bright sunny morning.  I am a sucker for gorgeous autumn scenery and I got to see plenty of it under the best weather conditions possible.

Please excuse the plethura of pictures

I got camera happy
After many construction cones (this will be the subject for an upcoming post) we traveled up the winding but beautiful scenic byway of Payette National Forest.  At the top was a rainbow - no lie!

We arrived at mom's tired and hungry but she always treats us like royalty and is the perfect hostess with delicious meals,

comfy beds, and warm hugs

We met up with family in the tri cities! We had a fantastic dinner, chatted, and were awestruck while Brian and Marc pounded down the shrimp!
Marc's expression says it all when they thought about eating the leftovers!

The next day we relished in the wonderful wedding and got to enjoy family and friends!

It was fantastic but way way too short.

Also detrimental to us because we don't realize how much we miss the great Northwest until we visit.

Our heartstrings ache,

our eyes well with tears,

and we vow to come back sooner next time!

We love you family, friends and the Great Northwest!
